Our Government Relations Committee was proud to represent the OnePoint Association of REALTORS® at CREA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) Days) in Ottawa this week, an annual event that brings REALTORS® together with Members of Parliament to discuss housing policy solutions that work for Canadians.
Over two productive days, OnePoint delegates held seven meetings with the following Members of Parliament: Scott Aitchison-Parry Sound Muskoka, Jamie Schmale-Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes, Terry Dowdall, Simcoe-Grey, Adam Chambers-Simcoe North, Alex Ruff-Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, Ben Lobb-Huron-Bruce, and John Nater-Perth Wellington.
These conversations provided an important opportunity to share the REALTOR® perspective and advocate for practical, locally driven solutions to Canada’s housing supply and affordability challenges.

This year, our discussions focused on CREA's two key asks to help address the housing supply crisis:
Ask #1: Leverage All Federal Levers to Unlock Housing Supply
We’re calling on the federal government to embed measurable housing delivery goals across all federal funding, policy, and regulatory tools — from infrastructure programs and CMHC financing to federal transfers.
By tying federal investments to zoning modernization, faster permitting, and outcome-based targets, we can:
Accelerate the construction of missing middle, market based homes
Maximize taxpayer value through smarter infrastructure investment
Strengthen intergovernmental coordination to meet national housing goals
Ask #2: Build Canada Homes (BCH) – Serving All Canadians
We’re advocating for Build Canada Homes (BCH) to support both vulnerable Canadians and middle-income families.
By including medium-density, prefabricated housing, BCH can:
Cut construction timelines and costs
Deliver attainable homes for young families and seniors alike
Build inclusive, resilient communities across the country
Together, we can open the door to homeownership and create sustainable housing opportunities for all Canadians.
OnePoint is proud to have brought our members’ voices to Ottawa and to continue advancing REALTOR® advocacy at every level of government.
