More Than a Boat Cruise: Why Member Engagement Matters

GRAVENHURST, ONTARIO, July 14, 2026 — When people think about growing a real estate business, marketing, open houses, lead generation, and social media often come to mind first.
Those things are important, but one of the most valuable resources a REALTOR® can offer clients is something less visible: a strong professional network.
That is why OnePoint hosts Member engagement events, such as our annual Summer Boat Cruise.

These gatherings give Members time to build relationships, exchange local knowledge, and connect with REALTORS® from communities across our jurisdiction. For buyers and sellers, those connections can have a real impact.
A well-connected REALTOR® can call on the experience of colleagues, recommend trusted local professionals, learn more about markets beyond their immediate area, and find answers when unexpected questions come up during a transaction.
That broader network is one of the reasons the public can feel confident choosing to work with a OnePoint Member REALTOR®.
Building Stronger Connections Across Our Region
Each year, OnePoint holds the Summer Boat Cruise in a different part of our jurisdiction. This gives Members across the region a better opportunity to attend an event closer to home.
Last year, Members gathered in Collingwood. This year, we set sail from Gravenhurst aboard the historic Wenonah II for a relaxing afternoon on Lake Muskoka.
For those who joined us, the cruise offered a welcome break from busy schedules. Members had time to reconnect with familiar faces, meet REALTORS® from other communities, and enjoy meaningful conversations in a relaxed setting.
For those who could not attend, the event still reflects something available to every OnePoint Member: a professional community built on connection, shared knowledge, and local experience.
Why These Relationships Matter
Real estate moves quickly. Between showings, client calls, emails, negotiations, and paperwork, finding time to connect with colleagues can be difficult. Still, some of the most valuable professional opportunities begin with a simple conversation.
A REALTOR® may meet someone who can recommend a trusted contractor for a client. They may connect with a colleague who understands a different local market. Sometimes, two REALTORS® who have already worked together on a transaction finally get the chance to meet face-to-face.
These relationships help Members serve their clients more effectively.
They create opportunities to share ideas, ask questions, exchange regional insight, and learn from one another. They also help REALTORS® build stronger working relationships with professionals they may meet across the table in a future transaction.
For the public, choosing a OnePoint Member REALTOR® means more than working with one individual.
It means working with a professional who is connected to a wider network of REALTORS® across mid-northern Ontario.
An Afternoon on Lake Muskoka
On July 14, 2026, OnePoint Members spent 90 minutes cruising Lake Muskoka while enjoying light appetizers, refreshments, beautiful scenery, and good company.
There were no presentations and no formal agenda. The afternoon was simply a chance to connect, catch up, and enjoy time together.
Thank you to every Member who joined us and helped make the event a success.
For Members who were unable to attend, there will be more opportunities to connect throughout the year. Whether it happens at a social event, an education session, or another Member gathering, every conversation helps strengthen our professional community.
Stronger Members, Better Client Service
Member engagement is not separate from professional growth. It is an important part of it.
When REALTORS® build relationships with one another, they expand their knowledge, strengthen their local connections, and become better prepared to support the people and communities they serve.
That is a benefit for our Members.
It is also a benefit for every buyer and seller who chooses to work with a OnePoint Member REALTOR®.
