Local Expertise, Meaningful Conversations, and a Great Day in Mitchell

MITCHELL, ON, October 1, 2026 — OnePoint Members gathered today at the Mitchell Golf & Country Club for a morning of practical learning, thoughtful questions, and local connection.

There is something especially valuable about learning from people who understand the communities where our Members live and work. Our Local Expert Panel brought together three professionals whose work regularly intersects with real estate: lawyer Katie DeBlock Boersma, mortgage professional Amie Shackleton, and residential, commercial, and new construction inspector Matt Dickert.

Each speaker shared insight from their area of expertise, including current considerations within their industry and information REALTORS® can keep in mind when supporting buyers and sellers. Members also had an opportunity to ask questions and hear perspectives grounded in the realities of working in our local communities.

What made the event particularly valuable was the range of experience in the room. Our panelists brought legal, financing, and property-inspection perspectives together in one conversation, helping Members consider how each area can affect clients and real estate transactions.

Following the panel, Members stayed for lunch and an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet other Members from the region, and continue the conversations that began during the morning. The lunch was offered in partnership with OREA Re-Connect.

Thank you to Katie, Amie and Matt for sharing their time and expertise, to OREA for helping make the lunch possible, and to every Member who joined us in Mitchell.

Events like this are an important reminder that valuable expertise and professional connections can often be found close to home. We look forward to creating more opportunities for OnePoint Members to learn from local voices, ask questions, and strengthen relationships within the communities they serve.
