OnePoint Association of REALTORS® Statement on the 2025 Federal Election

Updated: May 2

April 29, 2025 – On behalf of our nearly 3,000 REALTOR® Members across Ontario, the OnePoint Association of REALTORS® would like to congratulate newly elected and returning Members of Parliament (MPs) on their success in the Federal election.

This is a pivotal moment for Canadians, particularly in communities across our regions from Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, Guelph, Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes, Huron Bruce, Parry Sound-Muskoka, Perth Wellington, Simcoe Grey, Simcoe North and Wellington Halton Hills where housing affordability, supply shortages, and infrastructure needs are pressing concerns. We are encouraged by the commitment from all parties in this election to tackle these challenges, and we are ready to work with the federal government to advance fair housing taxation, reduce barriers for first-time homebuyers, and expand housing options that serve families, young professionals, and newcomers alike.

In the lead-up to the election, OnePoint partnered with Nanos Research to conduct consumer research across key Ontario ridings, including Perth–Wellington, Parry Sound–Muskoka, and Simcoe North. The findings revealed that a significant number of families feel they are being priced out of their own communities due to rising housing costs and limited supply. This research underscores the urgency of implementing policies that increase housing supply, streamline development approvals, and make homeownership more accessible for all Canadians.

We extend our congratulations to all Members of Parliament elected across the OnePoint area. We are committed to working collaboratively with you to build a more affordable and inclusive housing market for all Canadians.

Sincerely,

JENNIFER MORLEY
