WALKERTON, ON – May 8, 2025 — OnePoint members gathered in Walkerton for an energizing afternoon of professional development and relationship-building, demonstrating the value of industry collaboration and the strength of the OnePoint community.
The event kicked off with a dynamic educational session led by three expert advisors from Sun Life. The speakers provided actionable insights into personal and professional financial planning—covering everything from risk management and retirement preparation to strategic investment approaches. Members engaged in thoughtful dialogue, exchanging experiences and tools that not only support their own businesses but also empower them to better serve their clients.
Following the session, we transitioned from learning to laughter in a fast-paced euchre tournament that brought together 24 participants. Teams remained fixed while rotating opponents, adding a strategic twist to the high-spirited matches. With five 20-minute rounds, the tournament was designed for maximum engagement and efficiency—combining competitive fun with quality networking.

This dual-format event exemplifies the value of OnePoint membership: relevant professional education paired with meaningful peer connection. Events like this aren’t just enjoyable—they foster collaboration among sales professionals, encourage knowledge sharing, and help members stay sharp in an ever-evolving marketplace.
Whether gaining insights to support their clients or building rapport with fellow professionals, attendees left with more than just a good time—they walked away with new ideas, deeper relationships, and a stronger sense of community.
A big congratulations to our winning team, Jason Zister and Tom Freer, who racked up an impressive 45 points. Interestingly, Jason and Tom had never met before the tournament, they were paired up on the spot, proving that great teamwork can form in an instant. On the other end of the scoreboard, we proudly recognized our “Last Place Legends,” Melisa Berner and Larry Leonard, who ended the day with 19 points and plenty of laughs.
Thanks to everyone who came out. We look forward to more great OnePoint events ahead.
