March 25, 2026, GUELPH, ONTARIO – Local REALTORS® joined municipal planning leaders from the City of Guelph, Township of Centre Wellington, Township of Mapleton, and Town of Erin at the Italian Canadian Club in Guelph today for an insightful discussion on housing, growth, and development across the region.
Attendees heard directly from municipal planners on what is driving decision-making in their communities right now, including development trends, infrastructure considerations, and how shifting needs are influencing housing discussions. OnePoint's Members came prepared with thoughtful, detailed questions that reflected what they are hearing from buyers and sellers every day. The discussion created space for open dialogue about how municipal planning frameworks and approval processes affect housing supply, timelines, and the pace of growth across the region.
This session provided a valuable opportunity for members to connect with key decision-makers, gain clarity on local planning frameworks, and stay informed on the policies shaping growth. Events like these continue to play an important role in strengthening collaboration between REALTORS® and municipal partners, while equipping members with the knowledge they need to better serve their clients.
These conversations help REALTORS® advocate for their clients more effectively by bringing real on-the-ground client perspectives into the conversation, while building stronger working relationships with the municipal partners responsible for shaping neighbourhoods and future housing opportunities. When REALTORS® understand how local planning decisions are made, what is being prioritized, and where challenges exist, they are better equipped to explain what those realities mean for people trying to buy, sell, or invest in a community.
It's just one more way local REALTORS® are staying informed, engaged, and ready to serve the public with up-to-date knowledge. These sessions support ongoing professional development, but they also strengthen collaboration across the housing system by connecting professionals who share a stake in sustainable, well-planned growth.
A sincere thank you to all attendees, panelists, and organizers for making this event a success. Your participation helps strengthen informed relationships and practical collaboration that support vibrant, growing communities.
Additional municipal panels are being planned throughout the region this spring to continue these important conversations and provide more opportunities for engagement. We look forward to seeing more of our local REALTOR® members across OnePoint's many communities next month!
